The third compendium of Edward Gorey’s work, Amphigorey Also, tackles a number of unusual topics, but we do not think any less of it for that. Gorey delves into such arcane subjects as the opera, bicycles, urns, and prunes with remarkable elegance but never loses sight of the things that matter to casual fans. That is to say: yes, people are murdered in this book. It’s quite awful.
